Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. We will also set goals together. There's no need to prepare—just come ready to share at your own pace. The intake aims to establish a comfortable and safe space where you can begin your journey toward growth and healing.
I do not provide formal assessments in my office. I can provide you with referrals to a psychologist for formalized testing. I can diagnose mental health conditions based on history, observations, and symptoms.
Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is an emerging intervention model for a wide range of childhood behavioral problems. TBRI® is based on a solid foundation of neurodevelopmental theory and research, tempered by humanitarian principles. It is a caregiver-based intervention developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute.
Yes, I am in network with Aetna, Ascension (SmartHealth), Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, and Quest Behavioral Health. Upon request, I can provide a super bill that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if I am not in network with your insurance.
Yes, I understand that life can be busy, and it's not always easy to attend in-person therapy sessions. That's why I offer teletherapy services, allowing us to connect from the comfort of your own home. These teletherapy sessions are secure, private, and convenient, making it easier for you to start your first therapy session.
Finding the right therapist is so important, so that is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation. Therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, not a power dynamic. Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship — not just the method — is one of the biggest predictors of positive outcomes.
