Welcome

About Amanda Quicksall, LCSW

Most of the families I work with come to me feeling stuck. Their child is struggling — at school, at home, or both — and despite their best efforts, nothing seems to be working. They've been told to "wait and see." They've Googled themselves into confusion. They love their kid deeply but don't know what their kid actually needs.

That's exactly where I come in.

I'm Amanda Quicksall, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working with children, teens, and families. What makes my practice different is the breadth of what I bring to the table. I hold certifications in teaching, school counseling, and special education — which means I don't just support your family emotionally, I can help you navigate the school system, understand your child's evaluations, advocate for the right services, and translate what's happening in the classroom into a plan that actually makes sense at home.

As a TBRI-certified practitioner and current doctoral student at SMU, I stay committed to learning — because the families I work with deserve care that's grounded in what the research actually shows works.

And as a mom of four (two by birth, two by adoption), a 26-year marriage, and a breast cancer survivor, I understand in a very personal way that life doesn't always go according to plan — and that getting the right support at the right time can change everything.

I am a proud LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. Every person who walks through my door — or logs on for a telehealth session — deserves to feel safe, seen, and fully accepted.

Whether you're seeking therapy, need help navigating your child's school situation, or are looking for training and support for the educators and communities who work with kids — I'd love to help.

My office is located in the heart of East Dallas.

When I'm not in the office, you can find me hiking or camping with my family, exploring somewhere new, or at home with my three rescue dogs — who are very much a part of what keeps me grounded.
